Wassailing

This January Class 2 have been busy preparing and performing our very own Lydney C of E Wassail (a typical west country tradition).

We decided that at the beginning of 2017 we would welcome in the New Year and wake up the trees that have been sleeping this Winter with a big celebration.  After learning about all the different Wassail traditions, we had our own Wassail party.

Activities included singing, dancing, making shakers, designing Wassail costumes, baking apple cakes, drinking apple juice, placing bread on the trees for the birds and making lots and lots of noise in the apple orchard! A loud and enjoyable time was had by all!
