Girls Football - Tuesday 20th February
Girls from Years 5 & 6 put on a fantastic performance at The Forest High School in the girls football tournament. The tournament consisted of them having to play three matches, with the top teams playing against each other to find 1st place.
Lydney C of E played against St. Johns, St. Whites and Blakeney. The children really showed their resilience and improved as the matches went on securing three draws. This resulted in Lydney placing joint 2nd in the group with the other team going through on goal difference. We had some outstanding performances, with Isabel never letting a ball in the goal. Her outstanding goalie skills were even commented on by the coaches of the other teams. Keira showed great teamwork and was a key member of the team defending exceptionally.
It was a great experience for the children and they showed great sportsmanship and perseverance throughout.
