Welcome to Class 1
Welcome Back! We are in our final term now. We still have a busy Summer Term ahead of us, phonics screening assessment, school trip, class photos, sports day and much, much more. We will be preparing the children later in the term for their move up to Class 2. We have so much to look forward to.
Just a reminder of the things we have going on in class....
Our Bookworm incentive, which the children really enjoy, if you could continue to support your child reading at home this will really help with their progress.
Spellings will be sent home on a Thursday ready for a spelling test on Monday, giving the children 4 days to practise. If you could support them with this we would be grateful, this helps them with both their reading and writing.
As part of our topic we have told the children they are more than welcome to bring in things from home that relate to our 'All Creatures Great and Small' topic to go on our display. We ask that they do not bring in anything fragile or valuable.
Also as part of our topic we will be sending a homework sheet home for projects that can be done at home and then shared with the class. This is not compulsory, however we have found in the past that children really enjoy this creative aspect of learning that they can share with parents at home.
Please check your child's book bag everyday as there are often letters in there that will keep you informed as to what is going on in school and class.
